Delhi/Hyderabad, May 14 (Hydnow): The Supreme Court on May 14 (Tuesday) refused to hear a petition filed to disqualify Prime Minister Narendra Modi from contesting in the election.
A person has filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking to disqualify Modi from contesting elections for six years saying that Modi asked for votes in the name of God and temples.
However, a bench comprising Vikram Nath and Satish Chandra Sharma suggested that the petitioner first approach the Election Commission. With this, the petitioner decided to withdraw the petition.

A person identified as Fatima had filed a petition to the court to take action against Modi saying that seeking votes in the name of religion is a violation of the Model Code of Conduct. (Hydnow)
