The Malankara Orthodox Churches in Hyderabad came forward to help the desperate and needy people suffering due to lockdown.
Under MGOCSM & OCYM, the youth responding to the call of its Bangalore Diocese Bishop, His Grace Abraham Mar Seraphim, launched the campaign #SupportKaroNa in the second week of April amongst its church members to raise funds.
With the funds, they distributed grocery kits with the help of two NGOs — Freeration.in, a Hyderabad-based NGO which works on requests being sent on the app/website and delivers the grocery at doorsteps to the poor, and FeedTheNeedy, an informal group, formed by seven IT employees who work closely with Cyberabad Police.

Fr Lijo Joseph, vice president, MGOCSM & OCYM said the distribution of grocery kits in and around the premises of the churches located in the twin cities was also taken up.
