Hyderabad, Oct.11 (Hydnow): Justice Satish Chandra Sharma was sworn in as the Chief Justice of Telangana state today. He was administered the oath office by the governor of the State Tamilisai Soundararajan.
The Chief Minister of the state K Chandrasekhar Rao , TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy and Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar attended the swearing in ceremony.
Justice Sharma succeeded Justice Hima Kohli, who has been appointed as the Supreme Court judge on August 31. The president of India appointed the senior most judge of the Telangana High Court Justice MS Ramachandra Rao as the acting Chief Justice of the state after the elevation of Justice Kohli. However, he was also transferred to Punjab- Haryana High Court recently .
Justice Dharma was working as the acting Chief Justice of the Karnataka before his elevation as the Chief Justice of the Telangana high court. (Hydnow)
