Hyderabad, Aug.31 (Hydnow): Congress MLC T. Jeevan Reddy on Saturday wrote a letter to Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao urging him to release a white paper on the issue of submission of a report to the Central government seeking national project status to Kaleswaram lift irrigation project. He said the need to release white paper has arisen as both the State and Central governments were making contradictory statements on the issue.
Jeevan Reddy said replying to a question raised by Rajya Sabha MP MA Khan, Union Minister of State Ratan Lal Kataria gave a written reply stating that they did not receive any detailed project report (DPR) from the Telangana government to consider its request to grant national project status to the project. He said the Union minister had, however, acknowledged the fact that the CM KCR had written a letter on February 2, 2016 urging the Union government to grant national project status to the flagship project of the State.
