Hyderabad, Sept 6 (Hydnow): The Telangana government headed by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is maintaining silence or ignoring the tragedy in spite of repeated incidents of death due to open drains, particularly the children.
the recent death of a 4-year-old boy in an open drain in Pragathi Nagar is a tragic reminder of the danger posed by these death traps. Since 2020, more than a dozen people have lost their lives in similar incidents, but the government has turned a blind eye.
The open drains in the Hyderabad area major safety hazard. They are often drains, but they have failed to take any meaningful action. This indifference has cost the lives of innocent people.
In addition to the deaths, open drains also pose a health risk to the community. The stagnant water can breed mosquitoes, which can transmit diseases such as malaria and dengue. The drains can also release foul odors and pollute the environment.
It is suggested that the KCR government must take immediate action to cover all open drains and ensure that they are regularly cleaned. They must also educate the public about the dangers of open drains and how to stay safe.
When the KCR government claims that Hyderabad is an International city, the people of Hyderabad deserve to live in a safe and healthy environment. The government must act now to prevent more tragedies from happening. (Hydnow)
