Hyderabad, Oct.20 (Hydnow): Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President & MP Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Tuesday claimed that the Congress was all set to win the Dubbak Assembly by-elections with a huge majority.

Addressing different meetings in Thoguta mandal, Mirdoddi mandal and Dubbaka mandal and Dubbaka town, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the TRS would suffer a severe shock in Dubbak by-elections as the ruling party leaders have failed in their attempts to convince the people. “People have realised that the TRS Government has failed on all fronts and it never honoured the promises it made with the people. TRS leaders played a similar stunt in all by-elections by stating that voting for Congress would not help in development of constituencies and only TRS could bring development. They make huge promises and forget them once polling is over. They did the same thing in all by-elections, including Huzurnagar by-elections and now trying the same stunt in Dubbak. But this time, people have realised that they were being cheated and they’ve already decided to vote for Congress candidate Ch. Srinivas Reddy,” he said.

Reddy blamed Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao for the huge loss of lives and properties in the heavy rains and floods across the Telangana State, especially Hyderabad. He said that the Chief Minister did not visit a single affected area to inspect the relief measures and instill confidence among the affected people that the authorities would provide them all required help. He said that the financial assistance of Rs. 10,000 per family was too less and it would not compensate for the losses. Similarly, he said the Chief Minister’s announcement of Rs 1 lakh each for totally collapsed houses and Rs 50,000 each for partially damaged houses was an insult to the injury. “Will CM KCR or any other TRS leader will take the responsibility of repairing a totally damaged house in just Rs. 1 lakh or repair damages with just Rs. 50,000. The State Government did not take into account the damage caused to the electric and electronic items and other household items. Each family has suffered losses of not less than Rs. 5 lakh. But the State Government wants to wash off its hands by paying just Rs. 10,000,” he said.

The TPCC Chief also condemned the Chief Minister for neglecting the farm sector and silently supporting the three anti-farmer Bills passed by the BJP Government. “When the TRS Govt could convene a special session of Assembly to amend the Municipal Act, why could it not hold a session to override the controversial laws? CM KCR did not even attend the Assembly session so as to avoid passing a resolution against the BJP Govt’s anti-farmer Bills,” he alleged.

He said that the standing crops spread across lakhs of acres of land were lost due to ongoing heavy rains and floods. He said that the State Government did not issue any guidelines to enumerate the losses so as to pay compensation to the affected farmers. He said it was due to the negligence of CM KCR that the farmers have no crop insurance this season. He alleged that the welfare schemes of TRS Government were just hype and they were not helping the farmers in any manner. He appealed to the farmers of Dubbak constituency to support the Congress party. He expressed fear that the TRS Govt would take away huge land from farmers if it wins the Dubbak by-elections.

The TPCC Chief also appealed to the youth to vote for the Congress party. He said that the KCR Govt did not honour the promise of giving unemployment allowance of Rs. 3,016 to jobless youth even after two years. “KCR will mend ways if he loses Dubbak by-elections. He will immediately start honouring all the promises that he has made with the people. However, if TRS wins, it will continue with cheating the people and no promises would be fulfilled ever,” he said.

He said that the public response to the Congress campaign has been tremendous and its candidate Srinivas Reddy was enjoying huge support. He expressed confidence that the Congress party would create history by winning the Dubbak by-elections and they would prove to be the beginning of the end for the KCR regime. (Hydnow)
