Heat Wave To Cross 45 Degree In AP

Amaravati: The state of Andhra Pradesh will experience severe heat wave for the next three days, AP State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) managing director B R Ambedkar said on Saturday.

On Sunday, 136 mandals will suffer severe heat waves and 153 mandals on Monday, the official said. Gospadu in Nandyala district logged a maximum temperature of 42.2 degrees Celsius, and Rajanagaram and Seethanagaram mandals in East Godavari district recorded a maximum temperature of 41.9 C, on Saturday. Administrations in the affected districts have been issued the necessary guidelines, including giving alerts at the grassroots level.

The weather department has said that the intensity of the sun is likely to increase in the state for the next 3 days. Temperatures are already 2 to 4 degrees higher than the normal temperatures in many places. The intensity of the sun will increase from Sunday. The Meteorological Department has warned that many parts of the coastal districts are likely to record more than 45 degrees on Sunday. According to MD BR Ambedkar, 136 mandals of the state are likely to experience heavy rain and 173 mandals are likely to experience heavy rain.

Temperatures of 45 to 47 degrees are likely to be recorded in some parts of Vizianagaram, Parvathipuram Manyam, Alluri Sitamaraju, Anakapalli, Kakinada, Ambedkar Konaseema, Joint Godavari, Eluru, Krishna, NTR, Guntur, Bapatla, Palnadu, Prakasam and Nellore districts. Some parts of Srikakulam, Kurnool, Nandyala, YSR Kadapa, Annamayya, Chittoor and Tirupati districts are likely to record 42 to 44 degrees.
