Hyderabad, Sept.3 (Hydnow): Chief Secretary, Somesh Kumar today inaugurated the distribution program of clay Ganesh idols to the public at BRKR Bhavan on the eve of Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.
The Chief Secretary appealed to people to use clay or earthen made Ganesh idols for the festival and protect environment.
He asked them to refrain from using idols made of chemicals and colours as that add to pollution.
The HMDA planning to distribute 70,000 clay Ganesh idols to the public in 30 locations in Hyderabad on free of cost to promote eco friendly Ganeshas from September 4 to 10.
The Clay Ganeshas will be distributed in 30 centres and also with 4 mobile vans. The Public who need more than 100 idols has to approach HMDA Office.
