Crime Rate Increased In The Hyderabad City: CP Srinivas Reddy

Hyderabad, Dec 22 (Hydnow): Hyderabad Police Commissioner Kothakota Srinivas Reddy said the crime rate in Hyderabad city in the year 2023 has increased by 2 percent compared to the year 2022.

He released the city’s annual crime report at the Hyderabad Commissionerate.  This year, murders have decreased and property-related crimes have increased by 3 percent.

“We have conducted all the festivals and rallies this year, including the assembly elections, peacefully, after a long time, the Ganesh immersion festival and Milad-un-Nabi came together this year, so we conducted it peacefully with the cooperation of religious leaders. Crimes against women have increased this year.  If the rape cases against women were 343 in 2022, 403 were reported this year.  Cyber crimes have increased by 11 percent.  Last year Rs, 82 crores of fraud was committed in cyber crimes, but this time Rs. 133 crores have been swindled by fraudsters.  If 202 cases were registered in 2022 on financial crimes, it increased to 344 in 2023.  POCSO cases were reduced to 12 percent.  The Narcotic Bureau is working hard to eradicate drugs.  We will catch the suppliers wherever they are.  Sniper dogs are used to detect drugs.  “We are solving the complaints through social media fast, ” said the Commissioner of Police.

Responding to the police postings, he made it clear that if the staff asked for the postings by bringing letters of recommendation, they would not be given to anyone.  “We will keep only capable officers on duty.  We will see without politics in the matter of postings.  We have registered cases against 8 people involved in crime and neglect of duty.  Seven were suspended from service, and another 50 people are being investigated, he said.  

The Hyderabad Police Commissioner has warned that the New Year celebrations should be stopped before 1 am.  Strict action will be taken if the rules are violated.  If it is known that there are drugs in pubs and bars, it is wrong to be strict. (Hydnow)
