Hyderabad, June 14 (Hydnow): Former PCC president V Hanumantha Rao held a day long fast (Satyagraha Deeksha) at his residence protecting arbitrary arrests of party leaders in order to prevent them from holding any kind of protest program. Former MP Mallu Ravi extended his complete support to the agitation of the two leaders. Former Minister and veteran Congress leader K. Jana Reddy offered lemon juice to both VH and Ramulu Naik to break their fast.
Speaking on the occasion he said that there was no value to democracy in the state. He said that the congress party was discharging it’s duties as an opposition political party and alleged that the state government was preventing it from holding the protest programs. He made it clear that they were not holding the protest programs to prove their existence and added that they were holding the agitations to remind the people and the government about the democratic values. He made it clear that the congress party had always respected the feelings of the people of the state irrespective of its wins and defeats. He said that the congress party had given Telangana by respecting the feelings of the people of the state. He said that state government was insulting the congress party and the people of the state. He made it clear that the party should come into power to fulfill the aspirations of the people of the state.
VH said that CM KCR was afraid of their party and added that the CM was harassing them with the same fear. He Alleged that the DGP of the state M. Mahender Reddy was controlling the CM. He made it clear to the state government that they would go to court on the attitude of the state government. TJS president Professor M. Kodandaram condemned the arrest of the Congress party leaders and made it clear that it was the right of the people of the state to protest in a democracy. (Hydnow)
