Hyderabad, Nov.7 (Hydnow): Congress party MP N. Uttam Kumar Reddy today slammed the state government and alleged that it had miserably failed in the issue of the procurement of food grains. He asked whether the government, which boasts of an annual budget of ₹2 lakh crore , didn’t have the capacity to buy the food grains from the farmers of Telangana.
He alleged that CM KCR was only focussing GV on irrigation projects and commissions made from Them. Reddy made these remarks while speaking to media persons after visiting Nalgonda agriculture market. Speaking on the occasion, he claimed that the farmers of Nalgonda had been waiting for the sale of their produce since the last 16 days and added that the authorities concerned had not yet started the process of the procurement of the paddy crop. He demanded the state government to immediately commence the process of the procurement of the paddy .
He asked the state government to procure paddy for ₹1960 per quintal . He said that it was unfortunate that the state government was asking the farmers to not cultivate the paddy crop. He made it clear that the congress party would stand by the farmers of the state. (Hydnow)
