Hyderabad, Aug 6 (Hydnow): Senior Congress leader and MLC Jeevan Reddy said that it would be better if the Chief Secretary gives the clarifications sought by Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan regarding TSRTC merger and the Governor can call the Chief Secretary and ask for an explanation.
Speaking at the Assembly Media point, today, he criticized the TSRTC merger as being used for political purposes. He said that it is good for the Governor to talk to the TSRTC trade unions, but why the Governor did not hold a video conference with the trade unions?
Jeevan Reddy said that the BRS leaders are creating the impression that the merger of the TSRTC was not done because of the Governor’s objection, and if the government is sincere, it should send the Chief Secretary to the Raj Bhavan and clear the suspicions of the Governor.
He protested why the government is not telling how the pension benefit and pay scale will be implemented. They want to provide an old pension scheme to TSRTC employees.
In view of the presence of the Governor in Hyderabad, the government should take the initiative, if necessary extend the Assembly sessions and pass the TSRTC bill. Jeevan Reddy also demanded that the government should pay salaries to TSRTC workers on the 1st of every month. (Hydnow)
