Nalgonda MP Uttam Kumar Meets Union Minister Ashwin VaishnavNalgonda MP Uttam Kumar Meets Union Minister Ashwin Vaishnav

Hyderabad, Oct.13 (Hydnow): Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President & MP N. Uttam Kumar Reddy asked Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao to fight and win just one election in a fair manner without using money power or misusing official machinery.

Addressing a press conference through Zoom video-conference on Tuesday, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that even after staying in power for almost seven years at a stretch, TRS was still too weak to fight elections on its own. “CM KCR, Ministers K. Tarakarama Rao and Harish Rao are engulfed with fear of defeat in every election. For the same reason, they depend on defections from other parties to win elections,” he said.

Uttam ridiculed Minister Harish Rao for claiming that TRS had massive support in Dubbak Assembly constituency. He said if Harish Rao was so confident of TRS victory in the by-election, why was he making Congress leaders defect to TRS. “The ongoing defections clearly show that TRS has no base or public support and it is still dependent on Congress leaders to win elections. If CM KCR or Harish Rao seriously believes that their government was serving the people honestly, then why are they spending crores of rupees and appointing one incharge of every 100 voters to bribe them and lure them with different sops. Harish Rao asking people to give vote by looking at his face clearly means that CM KCR’s face has lost its value among people. Even he knows that people don’t want to vote for KCR anymore. Therefore, he is indirectly asking people to trust him if they don’t want to trust KCR anymore,” he said.

The TPCC Chief expressed confidence that Congress candidate Ch. Srinivas Reddy would win the election with a huge majority. He appealed to the people to vote for Congress party even if they are forced to take cash and liquor by the TRS.

Referring to the Nizamabad Local Constituency MLC polls, Reddy said that the TRS party had required numbers to win the elections. Since they don’t trust TRS leaders, CM KCR engineered large scale defections of elected representatives from Congress and other parties to increase the winning margin. “Although K. Kavitha had won the elections, her victory lacked grace. She can never feel proud by winning the MLC seat by violating the Constitution by engineering defections in other parties,” he said.
“Uttam demands compensation for rain-hit farmers”

Uttam said standing crops spread across lakhs of acres across Telangana State suffered heavy damage due to recent rains and floods. He said paddy, maize and cotton crops were badly hit due to the heavy rains. He criticised the KCR Govt for not enumerating the losses so far. He said Telangana farmers, in the last seven years, never got compensation for the crop loss due to natural calamities. He demanded that the State Government pay compensation to the farmers who lost their crops due to rains. He said that the farmers must be paid compensation as per G.O. No. 1 of the Central Govt. He said that the government should pay compensation of Rs. 20,000 per acre for paddy and Rs. 30,000 per acre for cotton crops.

He also condemned the State Government for refusing to buy maize from the farmers. He said non-procurement of maize would cause huge financial loss to the farmers. Therefore, he demanded that the State Government purchase the maize at MSP to help the farmers.

Further, Reddy said that the farmers have cultivated fine rice at the advise of the State Government by making huge investments. However, the farmers were being offered MSP of Rs. 1,888 per quintal. Stating that this MSP would not even cover the investment, he demanded that the State Government add a bonus of Rs. 600 per quintal for fine rice.

All India Kisan Congress Vice- President Kodanda Reddy and Telangana Kisan Cell President Anvish Reddy were also present.
