Hyderabad, July 15 (Hydnow): TPCC will launch the centenary birthday celebrations of former PM of the country PV Narasimha Rao on July 24 of this month. The congress leaders have held discussions on the issue with the family members of the former PM and prepared a detailed plan to hold the celebrations. The former PM of the country Manmohan Singh is likely to take part in the program through video conference.
Revealing the details of the program in a statement, TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy sais they he had appointed Dr. J. Geeta Reddy as the chairperson of the centenary celebrations committee and added that the party MLA D.Sridhar Babu would act as the vice chairman of the committee. He said that he along with other party leaders met with the family members of the former PM like his son PV Prabhakar Rao, PV Manohar Rao and his daughter Vani Devi. He said that Manohar Rao had agreed to be the chief patron of the celebrations committee. He said that the party would hold a year long celebrations program after the launching ceremony.
He said that they would take all events related to PV like his association with the party, his economic reforms and handling of external affairs into public. He said that other party leaders like former union ministers P. Chidambaram, Jairam Ramesh and Shashi Tharoor would also take part in the events to be planned by the party in the days to come. Reddy said that the veteran leader of the party VH had been appointed as the honorary president of the celebrations committee . (Hydnow)
