Hyderabad, June 15 (Hydnow): Banjara Hills police arrested a gang of thieves, who committed theft of copper wire bundles from the Command & Control Center. The accused were engaged by Shapoorji Pallonji & Company Pvt Ltd and allotted to work in Command & Control Center building.
Police said the accused, while working in command & control center, committed theft of 38 copper wire bundles worth Rs 38,00,000. Principal accused Sonu Khan, 34, was working as Ambulance driver in C.C.C Building and residing at Akberpuri, 2nd Lancer, Tolichowki. Accused No 2 Shanker Kumar is absconding. A3 Sourab Biswas, 24, is Security Guard in CCC, residing at Gowrishanker colony, Rd No 11, near Saibaba temple, Banjara Hills and native of Assam State, A4 Bikash Ranjan Behera, 19, security supervisor, residing at Secretariat Building, Nampally and native of Odisha State.
Receivers of stolen copper bundles are: Jangam Suresh, 49, of NBT Nagar , Road No. 12, worker in scrap shop, Avula Raju Mallesh, 36, worker in scrap shop residing at Balkampet, Mohd Abid Hussain, 42, scrap worker of Bolakpur in Musheerabad. The police seized 38 copper bundles worth Rs 38,00,000, Maruti Suzuki Omni white colour which was seized in the commission of offence and cell phones.
Banjara Hills police said they received a complaint from Pingili Narender, Admin Incharge in Shapoorji Pallonji & Company Pvt Ltd and working at Command Control, Rd No 12, Banjara Hills stating that they noticed that 38 copper bundles worth Rs 38 lakh were missing from the stocks and they searched all places but could not find them.
The police said four-member gang was working in the Command control centre. A1 Sonu Khan was working as Ambulance driver and he used to park his vehicle at Basement, A2 Shanker was working as store helper at Command Control and A3 Sourab Biswas and A4 Bikash Ranjan Behera were working as security guards. Al hatched a plan with A2 to A4 and they committed theft of 38 copper wire bundles and sold the stolen property at three scraps shops situated at NBT Nagar, Balkampet and Musheerabad.
The case was investigated by K. Nageswar Rao, Inspector, PS Banjara Hills with the assistance of K. Venkatesh, DSI along with crime team under the supervision of ACP Banjara Hills, M. Sudarshan. (Hydnow)
