Korutla/Hyderabad, May 29 (Hydnow): Tension prevailed in Korutla town today when the Revenue officials demolished the huts set up in the government land by the local poor families, especially women.
The local women who were agitating for the last month demanding the authorities to allocate the land to them by setting up huts on the government land, instead of providing them with shelter, were being demolished by the Revenue officials by using the police force. Local women under the aegis of ruling KCR’s friendly party CPM set up temporary huts in the government land located in the Jammigadda area on the outskirts of Korutla town and are continuing the agitation,
However, the revenue officials deployed a huge police force and demolished the huts early today morning, Enraged over the official’s move, local women gathered at the RDO office and tried to charge into the office. However, the police foiled their attempt. Police shifted agitating women to the police station. Earlier, about KCR friendly 25 CPM leaders and workers were also taken into custody. (Hydnow)
