Jayashankar Bhupalpally: Governor of Telangana Tamilisai Soundararajan interacted with the tribals (Adivasis) at Bodagudem hamlet in Kataram mandal in the district on Tuesday. On her arrival in the district, she was welcomed by Bhuplapally MLA Gandra Venkataramana Reddy and others.

She assured the Adivasis that she would see to it that double bedroom houses and land for cultivation would be provided as requested by the tribals. “I came here as your sister and not in as the Governor. I urge you to focus on your health, especially pregnant women by adopting good health practices and taking nutritious food,” she said and invited them to visit Raj Bhavan in Hyderabad. She also distributed blankets to the elders and uniforms to schoolchildren of the habitation.

Later, she visited the Kaleswara Mukteeswara temple at Kaleswaram where she offered special prayers after receiving traditional welcome by the temple priests. District Collector Vasam Venkateswarlu, Irrigation Engineer-in-chief of KLIS Nalla Venkateswarlu and other officials accompanied the Governor.

The Governor was apprised by the officials about Kaleswaram project and she went round the Laxmi barrage and pump house (Kannepally). In the morning, the Governor inaugurated a generic medical store set up by the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) on their office premises in the district headquarters. Later in the evening, she left for the Peddapalli district.
