Hyderabad, Nov.21 (Hydnow): Centre offered National award to fisheries dept. of Telangana government for development of fisheries production and employment to fisherman community in a big way.
In Delhi Union minister of state for fisheries, Prathap Chandra has offered the award and Rs 5 lakh for their best performance award to state official Anitha Ramachandra. He appreciated the government and fisheries ministry for its efforts on fisheries development. The award is offered for the state for development of fisheries in a non-sea area.
Animal Husbandry minister T Srinivas Yadav today appreciated the officials for the National award. He attributed the same to vision of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. The minister said that about 3 lakhs of fishermen benefited through the fish scheme in the state. The state government drops lakhs of shrimp and fish into reservoirs, lakes and water bodies free. The plan us, to develop fisheries wing, fishermen families by better marketing facilities.
The minister said that Rs 747 cr spent fir providing vehicles, vans, nets and other materials for fishermen. (Hydnow)
