Hyderabad, Oct 11 (Hydnow): The Hyderabad City Police Commissioner, C.V. Anand directed all the officers all DCPs, ACPs, and nodal ACPs to take resolute action against any instance of illicit cash, liquor, narcotics, or other prohibited inducements. He stressed the importance of preventing political parties from intersecting.
The City Police Commissioner held a Video Conference with the official on the strict implementation of the Model Code of Conduct in view of the forthcoming Assembly Elections in the state, he urged the enforcement of stricter measures, including intensified surprise checks.
He asked the officials to convene meetings with political parties at their respective levels. He instructed them to activate round-the-clock election cells within their offices, and effective security of polling stations.
An important decree was that all licensed firearms must be surrendered, and no new licenses should be issued until the conclusion of the polls. Static Surveillance teams (SST) were set to commence their operations, and the Flying Squad teams were instructed to intensify their checks.
The number of integrated inter-commissioned checkposts will be increased from 11 to 18.
The meeting also encompassed discussions on executing Non-Bailable Warrants (NBWs), monitoring social media platforms, surveillance on Hawala operators, binding over troublemakers, and other operational matters.
CP Anand stressed the imperative that 100 percent of the City Police force cast their votes through the facilitating centers.
Vikram Singh Mann, Additional Commissioner of Police (Law & Order), emphasized strict adherence to all Election Commission of India (ECI) norms within predetermined time limits. He underscored the decentralization of responsibilities through nodal ACPs, and an increase in visible policing, and expounded on various legal provisions and Acts.
Mr. Viswa Prasad, Additional Commissioner of Police – Special Branch, underscored the significance of obtaining actionable intelligence to ensure fair and transparent elections, advocating the uniform application of procedures while seizing cash, precious metals, and other freebies.
He stressed the importance of maintaining vigilance on fake voter ID makers, transport companies, and courier service providers, taking stringent action against electoral offenses, and providing clear instructions to the police force regarding their roles and duties.
Mr. Sudir Babu, Additional Commissioner of Police – Traffic, highlighted the proactive measures being taken by the Traffic wing to address any forthcoming events in the city until the conclusion of the polls. Srinivasulu, Joint Commissioner of Police for CAR Headquarters, briefed the attendees on the logistical arrangements made to deploy escorts, vehicles, Personal Security Officers (PSOs), and drivers to police officers engaged in poll-related duties.
He also provided an update on the accommodation arrangements for Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) companies at CTCs and other relevant aspects.
Parimala Hana Nutan, Joint Commissioner of Police (Administration), brought to the forefront several critical internal administrative issues. (Hydnow)
