Hyderabad, Sept.6 (Hydnow): State BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar today demanded that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao expel his Health Minister T. Harish Rao from his cabinet making him responsible for the recent botched family planning surgeries at Ibrahimpatnam government hospital and the death of four nursing mothers. He also demanded that the CM suspend Public Health director Dr. Srinivas on the issue.
Speaking to media persons at State BJP party headquarters at Nampally, Bandi alleged that the Health Department had become corrupt and committed irregularities. He said the CM was not taking action against those, who were resorting to corruption. Therefore, the CM should expel the Health Minister and director of the Public Health department. He also said the death of four women caused a nationwide uproar and left an indelible mark on the State. He said those who underwent family planning surgeries are daily wage-earners and laborers.
Bandi Sanjay Kumar alleged that the State government did not extend any help to the young children of the four victims. Questioning the appointment of the director of the Public Health as inquiry officer into the incident, he wondered how the officer, who was responsible for the deaths of four women was made the inquiry officer of the incident. He said the Public Health director was facing allegations on the issue of deputations and promotions. He also wondered how 34 family planning surgeries were performed in an hour.
The BJP leader also alleged that the role of State minister K Tarakarama Rao and CM’s daughter Kavitha were coming to the fore whenever there is a raid of the ED across the country. He claimed that the CM was talking about free power and national politics in order to divert the attention of the people from his son and daughter.
He said they were planning to visit the Munugodu Assembly constituency on September 11. Sanjay also condemned the arrest of Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi leaders on the occasion. (Hydnow)
