New Delhi, Sept. 30 (Hydnow): Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy today said the stand of the BJP was very clear over the issue of the establishment of Bayyaram steel factory in the State. He said their party always maintained that it would stick to the feasibility report submitted by experts on the issue.
Speaking to media persons on the issue, Kishan Reddy alleged that CM KCR and his family members were the real culprits in the steel factory issue. He also alleged that the CM and his family members were misleading the people of the State by stating lies on the issue. He said the BJP and their party-led Central government had made it clear on several occasions that it was not possible to set up the steel plant in Bayyaram on the basis of the report of the experts.
He said they had set up the experts committee on the issue as per the promise made in the AP Reorganisation Act and added that the committee undertook studies on the issue a couple of times and came to the conclusion that it was not possible to set up the factory in the area while noting that the entire process was completed within six months of the formation of the Telangana State.
He said the expert committee headed by Steel Authority of India Limited submitted its report in November 2014. He said the then Union Steel Minister gave a written reply on the issue on March 7, 2018, in Rajya Sabha.
He claimed that the Telangana government also constituted a committee on the issue comprising State Ministers KTR and G. Jagadish Reddy in 2018 and added that the committee had also come to the same conclusion.
He said the criticism of the ruling TRS party leaders was meaningless on the issue. He asked the ruling party leaders to stop their politics on the issue. (Hydnow)
