Mahabubnagar: Sports Minister V Srinivas Goud slammed the State BJP unit fight for Telangana’s cause and exert pressure on the Centre to fulfill promises made by the party to the people.
Former Union Minister late Sushma Swaraj had promised national status for Palamuru Rangareddy Lift Irrigation scheme (PRLIS). But the BJP leaders here were making no efforts to achieve national status for the scheme, the Minister said while addressing media persons here on Saturday.
He said AP Government was opposing PRLIS and called it as an unauthorized project. Both the national parties, Congress and BJP were not countering these moves and failed to protect Telangana’s interests, he said.
“In the past, leaders, who had offered Harathi and prayed for the well being of Andhra Pradesh, should now work for Telangana’s cause and win the people’s heart,” suggested Srinivas Goud.
Ridiculing BJP State president Bandi Sanjay’s padayatra in the State, the Minister said it was strange that despite being in the power at centre, he was conducting Padayatra.
“What is the motive of Bandi Sanjay’s padayatra? Is he going to inform the people about BJP Government’s efforts to privatize LIC, BSNL and railways,” questioned Srinivas Goud.
During his padayatra, the BJP leader should interact with people and enquire about development achieved in the State during the last seven years, he said.
He wanted the BJP State Chief to bear in mind that many Union Ministers have appreciated the welfare and development programmes being taken up by Telangana Government.
Finding fault with opposition parties for their abusive language in criticizing Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, the Minister said criticism should be constructive.
By using filthy language what kind of message they were driving to youth.
