Hyderabad, June 26 (Hydnow): In order to prevent illicit trafficking of Narcotic Drug and psychotropic substance under the limits of Rachakonda Police Commissionerate, the Special Operations Team (SOT) have booked a total of 53 drug related cases since the last four years ,
A statement here today 15 cases booked in 2017, 18 cases in 2018, 11 cases in 2019 and 9 cases so far in the year 2020, arrested 129 persons including 122 Indians and 7 foreign nationals and seized 378 grams of Cocaine, 2025 Kgs of dry Ganja, 25 numbers of Lysergic acid diethylamide LSD, 12 grams of Brown sugar, 598 grams of Heroin, 80 grams of Alprazolam, 97 grams of Amphetamine, 7 Ml. Of GHP (Global Health & Pharma) Steroid, 500 Yaba tablets along with net cash Rs.9,35,150, 28 cars, 6 motorcycles from the possession and instance of the accused persons and handed over them to the PSs concerned who in turn remanded them for judicial custody and filed charge sheets.
Of the above 53 cases, 3 cases including 1 case of 2017 and 2 cases of 2018 were ended in conviction, while the remaining are pending in the courts concerned. Further, during these four years so far, PD act was invoked against 26 drug peddlers. (Hydnow)
