Karimnagar: K Shashanka assumed charge as new Collector of Karimnagar district at the collectorate here on Wednesday. He took charge from outgoing Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed, who has been transferred and posted as Director, Prohibition and Excise in recent transfers. Later, speaking to reporters, Shashanka promised to implement the government welfare schemes in an effective manner. He expressed hope to reach the aspirations of the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who appointed him as Karimnagar Collector with a great response, by striving hard work.
Remembering his earlier association with erstwhile Karimnagar district, Shashanka informed that he worked as Jagitial sub-collector from December 2014 to December 2016. He also worked as Commissioner, Karimnagar Municipal Corporation, for 22 months from December 2016 and worked as Jogulamba-Gadwal district Collector for more than 15 months.
Later, he conducted meeting with the officials of various departments and enquired about the implementation and progress of various welfare schemes introduced by the government. Informing that Karimnagar has unique political, social and cultural futures, Shashanka wanted the officers to put the district in first place in implementation of welfare schemes by working in coordination. He enquired about the progress of paddy and cotton procurement, distribution of Christmas gifts, and one-stop-center and advised officers to keep government schemes in the mind while discharging duties.
Informing to organise department wise review, he asked officers to be ready with comprehensive reports of their respective departments. Joint Collector GV Shyam Prasad Lal, DRO Pravinya, special officer Rajarshi Shah, ZP CEO Venkatamadhava Rao and others participated in the meeting.
