Hyderabad, June 12 (Hydnow): Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy informed that schools would be reopened from Monday across the State as per the earlier announced schedule.
Speaking to the media here on Sunday, Sabitha Indra Reddy said that classes will be conducted through English medium from class 1 to 8 and over 1.64 crore text books are ready to disburse the students.
She also asked the local elected representatives to visit the government schools in their respective areas on Monday morning and to give a warm welcome to students.
The Minister said the State government is taking all measures to maintain clean and hygiene condition of toilets and is also providing the piped drinking water and added that the local village presidents should also take a responsibility of maintaining the proper sanitation at the schools.
Stating that over 70,000 fresh students have been enrolled during the recent campaign taken up by teachers and authorities concerned, the Education Minister said the State government had released over Rs.2,700 crores to the government schools under the Mana Ooru Mana Badi programme. (Hydnow)
