Hyderabad, Oct.31 (Hydnow): Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today stated that Rythu Vedikas will help farmers in Telangana to reap in golden harvest and flourish.
He launched the much touted Rythu Vedika at Kodakandla market yard in Management district here.
Later, he addressed a gathering of farmers and said that his dream has turned into a reality with Rythu Vedikas. This platform is like an atom bomb and will give complete boost to farmers to develop in future, he said. We have spent about Rs 600 crore to build 2601 Rythu Vedikas to be completed soon across the state.
KCR took serious exception to the centre for disallowing states to give minimum support price to farm produce. He claimed that only Telangana state is procuring farm produce in a big way and giving all support through several schemes. He accused the previous Congress rule of failing to give seeds, fertilizers and power supply to farmers to face more problems.
Due to lack of money to invest, growing interests and poor power supply forced them to take extreme steps of suicides. ‘I got tears to witness such incidents in Mahabub Nagar, Warangal, and others districts, he said. The cabinet took a tough decision to help farmers to become rich and Rythu Vedikas are built now. Times have changed and people are able to get information in their smart phones. Accordingly we aim to give suggestions to farmers on benefit giving, commercial and other crops. Regulated farming is key for the farmers to earn more income he said.
The Rythu Vedikas will pave way for meetings to discuss, decide on the type of crops, fertilizers, seeds MSP and marketing facilities he said. The Chief minister has urged the farming community to follow suggestions from agriculture scientists and experts to get benefits with multiple farm practices. ‘I hope the farmers are now going to produce more crops, get better MSP, KCR said. No state or country has similar platforms for the farmers he claimed. Due to no minimum support price the farmers abroad used to through crops like tomatoes and potatoes on the main roads.
Now the farmers in our state will get market, MSP, and required facilities to get benefits.
We set a record through Dharani portal and Rythu Vedikas in Telangana. Despite our efforts opposition parties create panic and spread confusion he charged. The agriculture officials, university staff will coordinate with farmers to grow crops and develop, he added. (Hydnow)
