Rs 300 Cr For Roads, Nalas: KTR

Hyderabad, Sept.21 (Hydnow): IT Minister K T Rama Rao said that leaves of all officials to be cancelled for two weeks to plunge into action to repair roads, and cap pen nalas in the city.

At a high level review meeting, here KTR said that Rs 300 cr to be spent for attending to roads and nalas works in the city. He instructed principal secretary Arvind Kumar to cancel leaves for two weeks and press teams to attend related works.

He expressed concern that several roads are badly hit by heavy rains and more rains were forecast. Keeping the situation in view teams of roads, nalas should be used for immediate repairs. The government will spend Rs 300 cr or more as per requirements, the minister said. About 130 teams are to be pressed to patch up roads, cap nalas and ensure smooth ride by people. The city inundates with huge waters as rains lash out and now our teams put in continuous works he said. Use funds, make effective coordination to compete patching of the roads and nalas he said. The minister asked to get details of open nalas, roads need repairs and plan properly.

KTR asked them to take up sanitation drive in al municipalities and districts after rains come down. The officials informed about 54 cm rains in the last 10 days. The teams are attending the works and officials are monitoring the same, they informed. (Hydnow)
