Hyderabad, Oct.9 (Hydnow): TPCC Chief A. Revanth Reddy today said he would approach the Delhi High Court over the application of the ruling TRS party urging the Election Commission of India to change its name from TRS to BRS (Bharat Rastra Samithi) party.
He said he would urge the Delhi High Court to issue orders to the EC to not approve the application of the TRS party for the name change.
Reminding that he had already filed a petition against the TRS party urging the court to issue orders to the EC to take action against the ruling party for collecting funds by violating rules, he said the Election Commission had not yet taken any action in the issue even after the orders of the Delhi High Court to inquire into the allegations made by Revanth Reddy. He said the TRS leaders held a program called ‘Gulabi Coolie’ in the year 2018 and collected hundreds of crores of rupees as the party fund.
Referring to an order of the Supreme Court of India, he made it clear that the participation of MPs, MLCs, and MLAs in fund-raising programs would amount to committing a crime and added that such acts would be equivalent to taking bribes from the public. On the other hand, Revanth Reddy held a meeting with the important leaders of the party to prepare a strategy for the victory of the party in the upcoming by-elections in Munugodu.
The meeting was held at MLA quarters in Hyderguda. The party leaders like CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, MP N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, former Deputy Chief Minister Damodaram Rajanarasimha, former minister R. Damodar Reddy, and former MP M. Anjan Kumar Yadav took part in the meeting. (Hydnow)
