Hyderabad, Nov.22 (Hydnow): Congress party MP A. Revanth Reddy demanded an explanation from union minister Prakash Javadekar on Srisailam hydel power project incident. He said that the pregnant women residing in and around the power project were having abortions due to the impact of the pollution following the fire accident.
He said that the union minister had not taken any action on the issue although he submitted a personal representation to Javdekar and urged him to initiate action on the issue. He also said that the union minister had not taken any action on the issue of the construction of state secretariat by violating existing environmental laws. He said that the permission of union environment ministry was mandatory to take up any kind of construction in and around Hussain Sagar lake area. He said that the supreme court of India had also given clear orders to not build any kind of permanent constructions in and around the lake.
He said that he had lodged a complaint with the Union Minister Prakash Javadekar on the issue of the construction of the state secretariat complex and submitted all kinds of evidences. Reddy said that the union minister had not taken any action on the issue so far and added that the union minister was dodging the matter as he scared of being caught before the National Green Tribunal, which had asked the union environment ministry to file its counter in the issue while responding to a petition filed by the MP.
