Punish Gandhi Hospital Incident Accused: Srinivas Goud

Hyderabad, Aug.17 (Hydnow): Tourism and Excise Minister V Srinivas Goud today said that the government will seriously punish those involved in the alleged rape case at Gandhi Hospital in Secunderabad. Some staff in the hospital allegedly resorted to rape on two sisters of Mahabub Nagar town who came to attend their relative for treatment in the hospital. While her sister went missing after the rape incident, another girl complained to the police of the same on Tuesday which led to a probe.

One of the victims revealed it on Tuesday and the issue came to the fore by family protests for justice. The case came to light followed by protests at Chilkalaguda police station and complaints by the family members of the victims. The BJP women wing leader Githa Murthy staged protest and justice to the victims’ family.

After visiting the hospital, the minister asserted that those involved in the crime will surely be punished seriously. Srinivas Goud interacted with Superintendent Dr Raja Rao and other officials and got the details of the incident.

It is unfortunate that the incident took place at the hospital and the culprits will be punished, he said. Those involved in the incident will not be spared by our state police, Goud said.

Stating that there are several rape cases and atrocities on the women are taking place in Uttar Pradesh and Delhi and other states.

Though the Centre and state governments are not using stringent laws to check recurrence of such incidents he expressed concern. However the Telangana government is offering all protection to the women in the state through She Teams, using technologies of CCTVs after the Disha case took place near Shamshabad area in Chatanpally, he recalled.
