Hyderabad, June 24 (Hydnow): Roads and Buildings and Assembly Affairs Minister V Prashanth Reddy today criticized the opposition parties for allegations on the government on AP irrigation projects.
Our government is making continuous efforts to stall the relates works as they hamper our interests he said.
Addressing a press conference at TRS LP, the minister accused the congress and the BJP leaders of adopting double standards on the irrigation projects. He demanded that the government of AP should stop the construction works of irrigation projects in violation of green tribunal directions and norms.
The minister said that the then YSR Government has snatched away our share of waters and Telangana leaders supported him. He slammed that DK Aruna then minister in YSR Government has performed pujas irrigation minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah broke a coconut to mark release of waters to AP. These leaders are crying foul on our government despite making persistent efforts to prevent. The AP government of chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy should stop looting our waters he said.
The minister said that YSR increased four times water capacity through the canals. YSR raised 11500 cusecs to 44000 cusecs and no congress leaders dared to question it. When the BJP leaders in AP talk in favour of the state, why not Telangana BJP leaders talk in our favour. They must move court and fight for rightful share if waters. The congress and BJP leaders should fight the case at courts to stop the illegal projects in AP he said. Rayalaseema lift project and Pothireddipadu expansion works are going on despite NGT stay he objected.
We have urged the centre repeatedly to stop such illegal projects he said. The centre too asked AP government to stall the works the minister said. (Hydnow)
