Hyderabad, Sept.7 (Hydnow): State health minister Etala Rajender hailed services rendered by former president of India Pranab Mukherjee and added that the latter was responsible for the inclusion of separate Telangana issue in the Common Minimum Program (CMP) of UPA government.
He said that Mukherjee had praised the Chief Minister of the state KCR for achieving the separate state. He made these remarks while taking part in a condolence motion introduced by the CM KCR on the recent death of Pranab Mukherjee. Speaking on the motion, Rajender said that they met with Pranab Mukherjee several times along with their leader KCR on the creation of the separate Telangana state issue. He also said that KCR had always treated Pranab like his father.
He recalled that they had submitted several representations to Pranab Mukherjee during the separate state agitation and held several rounds of discussions with the Pranab on the issue in Delhi. He said that they had also handed over the consent letters of all political parties over the formation of the separate state to the Pranab Mukherjee led Committee. (Hydnow)
