Visakhapatnam: Power Star’ and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan will undertake a long march’ in the city on Sunday in support of building construction workers who were suffering from lack of work due to non-availability of sand in the State.
But whether the event would meet the desired success is doubtful as JSP’s invitation to other opposition parties in the State–the TDP, BJP, CPI and CPM did not evoke proper response.
Though initially the Left parties agreed to join the two-kilometre long march with him, they later expressed inability as they were already on an agitational course against the YSR Congress Party government on the issue. The BJP declared it would not join the march and only the TDP is likely to participate in the event.
However, TDP sources said that there was no word from the party high command on the matter. But they were prepared to take part if the party wants them to, even at the last minute, they said.
The film actor is scheduled to address a public meeting near the Gandhi statue at the Asilmetta junction in the heart of the port town.
