Hyderabad, Nov 10 (Hydnow): Passport applicants in Hyderabad were left disheartened today after a server outage disrupted services at the Passport Seva Kendra Ameerpet and other passport-issuing offices across the city.
Applicants who had booked their slots for November 10, 2023, arrived at the passport office only to find that the system was down until noon. This unexpected setback caused frustration and inconvenience for many individuals, including government and private employees seeking passport renewals, new passports, and other essential services.
By 1 pm, applicants were informed that they needed to rebook their slots and revisit the passport office, compounding the inconvenience they had already experienced. This directive has raised concerns among applicants about the additional waiting period they now face, which could range from a fortnight to a month, depending on the availability of slots.
The incident highlights the importance of robust technological infrastructure in critical public service sectors and the need for prompt solutions to minimize disruptions for citizens. As frustrated applicants navigate the process of rescheduling, there is an urgent call for authorities to address the root cause of the server issues and implement measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
