Hyderabad, July 20 (Hydnow): Osmania University (OU) has announced that all examinations scheduled to be held on July 20 and 21 have been postponed due to heavy rains in Hyderabad and other districts of Telangana.
Officials of the Education Department said that this decision was taken in the wake of the announcement of a two-day holiday by the government for all educational institutions in Telangana.
Earlier, Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy tweeted that in view of the heavy rains in the state, the government has decided to declare a two-day holiday for all educational institutions in the state as per the instructions of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.
After this announcement, Osmania University postponed the exams. Officials said that the rescheduled date will be announced soon. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh also postponed the exams due to rains. Dates and rescheduled exams will be announced later.
In addition to this, all the universities in the state will give clarification on the dates of examinations. The IMD has predicted heavy rains in the state till July 24, GHMC Mayor Gadwala Vijayalakshmi advised people to be alert. (Hydnow)
