Hyderabad, Aug.18 (Hydnow): Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi (BGUS) today made it clear that the State government had not imposed any restrictions on the organisation of the upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi festival. It however said that the state government had urged the devotees of the state to hold the celebrations at their homes, apartments, gated communities, community halls, function halls including the basti areas of the state as it does not require to take permission from police department.
Addressing a press conference here today, the General Secretary of the Samithi Dr. Bhagavath Rao urged the devotees to perform the festival in a simple manner by following the traditions and the customs instead of opting for fanfare and other methods. He urged them to follow COVID-19 norms in a strict manner and not allow more than five people in the Ganesh pandals at a time.
He made it clear to them that they all should wear masks all the time and sanitise the pandals all the time. He urged the pandal organisers to take steps so that the Ganesh idols were convenient to install and easy to lift . He said that the process of immersion should be completed by following the COVID-19 norms. He asked them to not hold any kind of program that will lead to mass gatherings. (Hydnow)
