Hyderabad: Pujari Mallesh, a 49-year-old fruit seller from Karmika Nagar, died when an RTC city bus hit the moped he was riding at Yousufguda under Madhura Nagar PS of Hyderabad city on Friday. Mallesh received a severe head injury and died on the spot.
According to police, Mallesh was on his way to work. At Yousufguda, the bus bound for Secunderabad, coming in the opposite direction, hit the moped.
Meanwhile, seeing the accident, the bus driver stopped the vehicle immediately, due to which a couple of women foot boarding the bus also fell off the bus and landed on the road. They had a narrow escape from coming under the wheels of the bus.
Madhura Nagar police said a case had been registered against the bus driver, who fled from the spot after the incident. The bus was seized and shifted to PS. Further investigation is underway. Mallesh is survived by a wife and three children.
