Hyderabad, June 4 (Hydnow): Senior TPCC Vice-President G. Niranjan today demanded that the Home Portfolio of Mohammed Mahmood Ali be shifted from him to have an impartial inquiry on the Jubilee Hills gang-rape incident.
As the culprits are friends of the grandson of Home Minister and they had come to attend the lunch hosted by the Home Minister’s grandson, the police under pressure were not going ahead with its independent inquiry and they were being forced to washout the evidences, he said.
The TPCC leader said prestige of the Police department in the State was badly affected with the gang-rape incident in a car between 6 pm and 7 pm that too in most busy Jubilee Hills area. “Why the Police did not act immediately after the complaint filed on May 31?”, he asked.
“If they took it seriously, the culprits would have been arrested immediately and one of them would not have got an opportunity to flee to Dubai. This is because of the Police failure only”, he said, adding that the Police, who acted immediately and encountered the culprits in the infamous Disha case are not acting promptly in this case.
Why this difference?” he asked. “Police was mum even after the complaint was filed on May 31 and news published in the media on June 2. On the same day, I also urged Commissioner of Police C.V. Anand to disclose the names of the culprits through the press.
“On Friday, when IT Minister KT Ramarao, in a tweet sought action, then the department swung into action and the DCP West Zone convened a press meet at 9-30 pm hurriedly and given details of the case.
But, he made to use this occasion to give clean chit to the grandson of Home Minister and son of MIM MLA Mozam Khan.
Does it mean that Police will act only on tweets of KTR and doesn’t care others? People are expressing doubts that evidence is being erased under the directions of police only”.
“It is unfortunate and inhuman that the ghastly and heinous act of each culprit was picturised by the son of Mozam Khan in his mobile which was circulated to all the culprits.
The clipping was also sent to the victim girl and threatened her not to reveal it to anyone.
It seems all the clippings were being deleted from the mobiles of the culprits. We demand that the police retrieve the deleted clippings and take severe action against the culprits.
The DCP during his press meet informed that girl was unable to identify the culprits. Then why the DCP failed to arrange for the parade of all participants in the party to identify the real culprits.
There is a danger that Police may bring pressure on the victim not to disclose facts to save the persons at the helm of the affairs.
“The enquiry of the victim and identification of culprits should be made in the presence of reputed women social activists to boost the morale of the girl and for giving fearless statement on the incident. It is absurd on the part of DCP for his evasive answer on allowing below 17 years aged into the pub saying that it would be looked after by Excise Department.
Action should be taken against the grandson of the Home Minister and PA of Home Minister for booking the pub and inviting the persons below 17 years of age. This incident highlights the degraded culture of the children of high profile society with power and money.
The grandson of the Home Minister invited over 200 people and it has to be verified about the presence of Himanshu, grandson of the CM KCR as he is also a regular member of this group.
“It is to remind sometime back in the absence of KCR in city, his grandson Himanshu along with his friends went to Secretariat in the car of CM along with the convoy and spent some time in the chambers of CM.
The CM and KTR should be cautious and save the youngsters from this culture”, he added. (Hydnow)
