Tirumala, Sept.14 (Hydnow): In consonance with Agama traditions, the ritual of Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam will be held at Srivari temple on September 15, as a precursor for the annual Brahmotsavams.
The holy cleansing of the Srivari temple takes place four times a year – particularly Tuesdays ahead of – Ugadi, Anivara Asthanam, Annual Brahmotsavams and Vaikuntha Ekadasi festivals.
The sacred ritual of cleansing will commence in the morning after Nitya pujas. As part of the Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam the entire temple complex including the roofs, walls, puja vessels are cleaned with herbs and a perfumed mixture called Parimalam.
In view of the COVID-19 restrictions, the event will be observed in Ekantkam from 6am onwards and lasts for nearly three hours on Tuesday. (Hydnow)
