Hyderabad, Jan.28 (Hydnow): Health and Finance Minister T Harish Rao today demanded the Central Government to decrease the period of booster dose of vaccine. The Minister disclosed that the fever survey will be conducted again as it was covered now in 28 districts.

The Minister has inaugurated a new Cath laboratory facility for heart patients at Khammam along with Minister P Ajay Kumar and other leaders. Speaking on the occasion he said that they are checking the corona and omicron variant in the state. More health teams are working to provide better services and put a tab on the cases, he said.

The government provided the Cath lab facility by spending Rs 20 cr and would provide more facilities. We have already started a 100 bed facility in the town to provide immediate health services for accident victims, the minister said. The minister said that right now Cath lab facilities are available in Gandhi, NIMS and Osmania Hospitals and will be deployed at Adilabad district soon.

The Centre should reduce time of booster dose as it was done in foreign countries, he said. The minister noted that the booster dose is being offered with only three months of gap to the two vaccine doses given to the affected patients. We have conducted house to house fever survey and covered 77 lakh families, he said. The minister maintained that the survey by health staff has covered most of the families and offered medical kits to 3.75 lakh families for mild symptoms of coronavirus, Harish Rao said.

More families will be covered through the fever survey based on requirements to check the omicron and corona cases, the minister said. He also reiterated that they started a second milk bank at Khammam after one available in Neiloufer Hospital in Hyderabad. (Hydnow)
