Hyderabad, April 3 (Hydnow): Judicial inquiry has started on the Kaleswaram Project. A special inquiry commission headed by former Supreme Court Justice PC Ghosh was constituted.
Irrigation Secretary Rahul Bojja’s team of officials had a special meeting with Ghosh yesterday. Rahul Bojja gave Ghosh copies of the gazette issued by the government for setting up the commission.
Ghosh Mission has written a letter to the government to give details with 9 points. The state government has asked the Ghosh Commission to complete the inquiry by the last week of June.
The Ghosh Commission team will come to Hyderabad next week.
The government has agreed to request a judicial inquiry committee to investigate the construction defects and irregularities in the Kaleswaram barrages and identify those responsible.
To this end, a team of officials led by Irrigation Department Secretary Rahul Bojja will meet Justice Pinaki Chandra Ghose, the chairman of the committee, in Kolkata on Tuesday.
Along with Rahul Bojja, EnC (O&M), B. Nagendra Rao, and Deputy ENC (P&M) K. Srinivas have reached Kolkata. As there is an appointment on Tuesday, they will meet him, provide TVR, and explain the case.
In this context, an inquiry committee office was also set up at Burgula Ramakrishna Rao Bhavan (BRKR) here. The authorities will ask Ghosh to conduct an inquiry based on all seven points, identify the culprits, and submit a report by June 30. (Hydnow)
