Tadepally, June 4 (Hydnow): AP CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said taxi drivers to not drive their vehicles in a drunken state. He made these remarks while after launching the second phase of YSR Vahana Mitra scheme at his camp office. He spoke to some of the beneficiaries of the scheme through video conference later.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that they had launched the scheme four months before its scheduled launch to help the families of auto rikshaw and taxi drivers of the state as they suffered a lot due to the ongoing lockdown. He urged all those who did not apply under the scheme despite being eligible, to register their names in Spandana app. He said that his government was implementing all welfare schemes with complete transparency and without giving any scope to any kind of corrupt practice. He wished good luck that all the auto rikshaw, taxi drivers turned self-empowered and leading their life after buying vehicles on their own. He said that the first phase of the program was launched on October 4,2019. He said that the he had promised to launch the scheme during his padayatra in Eluru in the month May 2018. He said that they had spent Rs.236 crore to implement the scheme last year and added that they were now spending Rs.262 crore this year.
Reddy said that they had also announced a calendar for the implementation of different welfare schemes in the state. He said that they would launch different welfare programs to barbers, washermen and tailors of the state on June 10 and added that the Netanna Nestham scheme for weavers would be launched on June 17 and Kapu Nestham scheme would be launched on June 24 of this month.
