Delhi/Hyderabad, Sept 5 (Hydnow): BJP MP Harnath Singh Yadav has called for the country’s name to be changed from ‘India’ to ‘Bharat’ and to remove it from the Indian Constitution immediately.
Harnath Singh Yadav said that the word ‘India’ was used by the British. The whole country is demanding to use the word ‘Bharat’ instead of ‘India’. The word ‘Bharat’ is a symbol of our culture. I want to see a change in our constitution and add the word ‘ Bharat’.
Recently, the opposition parties named their alliance as India. There are 28 parties in this alliance that are planning to face the BJP-NDA in the Lok Sabha elections to be held next year.
RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat had earlier made a similar statement on changing India’s name to Bharat. Whether people understand it or not, Mohan Bhagwat said that we should not say ‘India’. we should say ‘Bharat’. Besides, BJP Member of Parliament Naresh Bansal also raised this issue in the Rajya Sabha. (Hydnow)
