Hyderabad, Aug 8 (Hydnow):  The last rites of humanitarian, well-known journalist and managing editor of Siasat Urdu Daily Zaheeruddin Ali Khan, who died suddenly last night were held in Nampally early today. 

Indian Journalist Union (IJU) Steering Committee member M.A Majeed, Telangana Urdu Working Journalists Federation (TUWJF) General Secretary Syed Ghouse Mohiuddin, Telangana State Working Journalist Association (TWJ) State General Secretary K. Virahat Ali, Hyderabad Union of Working Journalists, Secretary Shaukat Hameed, the former president was present in this final yatra.  Telangana janasamithi Party (TJS) President Prof. Kodandaram, News Editor N. Venugopal, Editor of janam Sakshi Rehman and others were present and paid tribute to Zaheer Ali Khan.  

It is known that Zaheeruddin Ali Khan (63), the managing editor of Siasat Urdu daily, a humanitarian who constantly fought for the preservation of secular values and was at the forefront of social movements, passed away on Monday. He participated in  Gaddar’s last yatra on Monday.  He died suddenly due to cardiac arrest.  Zaheeruddin, who was deeply moved by the death of Gaddar, who was dear to him, first went to Apollo Hospital and saw his dead body.  they stayed at the LB Stadium all Monday.  Zaheeruddin reached his house in the same vehicle carrying his body.  After that, they went to inspect the Mahabodi school area.  By then it was half past six in the evening.  Meanwhile, he got a phone call and came out of the school premises.

Eyewitnesses said that while talking on the phone, he collapsed due to difficulty in breathing.  As he was vomiting, the bystanders performed CPR and rushed him to the hospital.  the doctors announced that he breathed his last due to cardiac arrest while being brought to the hospital.  (Hydnow)
