Hyderabad: Two persons who were involved in chain snatching cases in the city were caught by the Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force (west) team on Saturday. The police recovered 8 gm gold, and seized a motorcycle and two mobile phones from them.
Those caught were identified as Shaik Nabi (24) and Mohd Amer (20), both residents of Syed Ali Guda in Asifnagar. The duo was involved in five cases reported in Musheerabad, Humayunnagar, Golconda, Langer Houz and Afzalgunj police station limits, police said.
“In the latest case reported at Golconda, they snatched a gold chain from a woman at Shaikpet and sped away. On information, they were caught on Saturday and on questioning admitted to the offence and their involvement in four other cases,” said P Radha Kishan Rao, DCP Commissioner’s Task Force.
Shaik Nabi was previously arrested along with his two associates for involvement in other cases. He was released later from jail and again started committing the offences, the official added.
The men along with the property were handed over to Golconda police station for further action.
