Hyderabad, May 11 (Hydnow): The Hyderabad city Police Commissioner, K. Srinivas Reddy emphasized the need for taking up election duty particularly during the last 48 hours and on the day of polling.
He insisted on intensified enforcement (seizure of illicit liquor, cash, and freebies), and thorough checking of lodges, Kalyana Mandapams, etc.
Campaign activity will close at 6 PM and thereafter door to door campaigns in small groups only will be allowed. Instructions regarding carrying of mobile phones, maintenance of queues, prompt response to the requests of Polling staff, instructions regarding 100 meters and 200 meters, and safety of EVMs, were once again briefed.
Misuse of public transport and private transport will not be allowed for ferrying of voters. In some Polling stations where there are long queues of voters even after 06.00 PM, based on the instructions of the presiding officer and issue of tokens, the voters will be permitted to cast their vote.
BLOs (Booth Level Officers) who have been issued valid ID cards by the Returning Officers will also be allowed to enter the Polling locations. No mobile phone will be permitted inside the polling station. Mobile phones brought by voters will be deposited at the BLO counters and Police Personnel should not take custody of the Mobile Phones of voters. Proper food arrangements have been made for the entire Police force. The Police Personnel are expected to exhibit good and impartial behavior and have a neat turnout uniform on the day of poll.
Around (8000) Police Personnel of various wings participated in the briefing session.

CsP, Law & Order, HeadQuarters & Training and Commandant, HGO conducted a briefing session in connection with General Elections to HoP (Lok Sabha) 2024 to all the Home Guards of Hyderabad City Police and the HGs of Karnataka State (who are deployed for election duties) and SPOs at Shivkumar Lal Police Stadium, Goshamahal.
