Hyderabad, July 28 (Hydnow): The Telangana High Court today asked the state government to take steps for the conservation of UNESCO recognized Ramappa temple. It said that it was a matter of pride for the entire Telangana state that Ramappa temple had got the heritage structure stature.

A division bench comprising off the chief justice of the state Justice Hima Kohli and Justice B. Vijaysen Reddy made these remarks while dealing with a Suo Moto petition, which was based on news reports published in different media publications. The HC has also asked the state government to take up comprehensive conservation program before the deadline of December fixed by the UNESCO.

It also asked the state government to constitute a committee comprising of ASI, state archaeology department and district collector and hold the meeting of the committee on August 4. The HC later adjourned the hearing of the case till august 25 of the next month. It said that the state government should submit the report of the committee within the next four weeks before the adjourning the matter. (Hydnow)
