Bhadrachalam, July 19 (Hydnow): Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar today said the Telangana State was facing the inundation problems with the height of Polavaram project located in Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar said due to increase in the height of Polavaram project being constructed across the Godavari river, the flood water at Bhadrachalam was moving up slowly, resulting in the inundation of many habitations in Telangana. He said the issue of reducing the height of the Polavaram project was already brought to the notice of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and the Telangana government was frequently reminding it to the Andhra Pradesh government.
Stating that the rehabilitation centers will be continuing by providing all amenities to the flood-hit people, the Minister said the State government would chalk out an action plan for the construction of houses on a permanent basis once normalcy is restored in Bhadrachalam. (Hydnow)
