Bhadrachalam/Hyderabad, July 19 (Hydnow): The water level of Godavari at Bhadrachalam is gradually increasing due to rains in the upper reaches. The water level, which was 320 feet on Tuesday evening reached 28.9 feet at one 0’clock on Wednesday afternoon. Officials estimate that there are indications of further flooding in the next 24 hours as water is released from projects in the upper region.
Bhadrachalam Godavari bathing ghats were mostly submerged and the authorities were alerted. Anglers were advised not to go hunting. Warning boards have been erected at the river asking devotees who come to visit Bhadradri Ramaiah not to go deep while bathing.
Collector Dr. Priyanka Ala directed that the government officials in the coastal region should provide the details of the flood water level to the residents of the inland areas from time to time. The Collector is inspecting Charla and Dummugudem’s manuals to check the flood situation. (Hydnow)
