Hyderabad, July 3 (Hydnow): Telangana ku Haritha Haram Program is observed at GITAM Deemed to be University, Hyderabad Campus, to create awareness about saplings plantation among the students, GITAM Authorities have taken up this an initiative.
GITAM President M. Bharat, GITAM Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. N.Siva Prasad, Resident Director DVVSR Varma and others planted mango saplings in the premises. They have opined that trees are essential for improving the oxygen levels and increased plantation will contribute to water conservation.
During the last five Haritha Harams, GITAM plated several plants in and around the campus and received ‘Best Haritha Harm’ awards from the hands of CII and Governor.
Students Affairs Director Prof. A.Sreeram, School of Science Principal Prof. G.A.Rama Rao, School of Architecture Director Prof. G.Sunil Kumar, GITAM School of Humanities and Social Sciences Prof. Nagendra, Estate Officer DVA Mohan, faculty of various departments and others have come specially to take part in the sapling plantation.
